FAQ

HOW DOES A DOMAIN TRANSACTION WORK?

First off, Indus Domains takes information security very seriously. All transactions and information are 100% secure with us and our payment partners PayPal & Escrow.com. No need to worry!

Most of our transactions are handled through these two methods. Transactions under $5,000 are generally handled through PayPal unless the buyer is a new client who we are not familiar with or who is uncomfortable with paying us directly. All transactions over $5,000 are usually handled through Escrow.com unless specifically requested otherwise by buyer or seller. Escrow.com is the leader in internet escrow services. It is fast, easy & free to setup an account, and there is no safer or more secure way to handle a domain transaction! We have used Escrow.com to settle many 7 figure domain sales for us – you are in good hands.

Unless requested by either buyer or seller, Indus Domains does not report its sales publicly.  All transactions are kept strictly confidential.

WHAT ARE YOUR QUALITY CRITERIA FOR DOMAINS ELIGIBLE FOR YOUR PREMIUM BROKERAGE SERVICE?

Indus Domains is very careful in selecting only the highest quality domain names for our Premium Domain Name Brokerage Service. We are a “boutique” domain name broker and not for the masses. We must reasonably believe that we can sell your domain for a minimum of $75,000 or more for it to be considered for our End User brokerage service. Most domains which fit that criteria would be one or two word .com / .net / .org domains with lots of exact match search volume (according to the Google Keyword Tool). These types of domains generally receive type-in traffic and have high value for ecommerce or some unique commercial application. Some examples of these types of domains are: PillowCases.com, Rings.net, Vermont.com, CarInsurance.org, MovieTheatres.com, etc…

We also will consider short and highly brandable domains which are easy to pronounce, easy to spell and most likely are in the .COM extension. Some examples of these types of names are: eBiz.com, Ploro.com, Sou.com, Youshi.com, Fams.com, FAV.com, etc…

If you have domains that fit this criteria, please contact us as we’d be happy to help you market your domain for sale and maximize your return!

We also have a great track record at selling smaller value domains as well, primarily by marketing them through our Domain Newsletter which goes out several times per week to our large and highly targeted audience of qualified buyers, investors, marketing & ad agencies as well as end user companies whom we have previously done business with.

WHAT COMMISSION & FEES DO YOU CHARGE FOR YOUR NEWSLETTER SUBMISSIONS & PREMIUM BROKERAGE SERVICE?

We charge 15% of the total sale price for both our newsletter submission sales as well as our Premium End User Brokerage Service.  We have a minimum $250 fee for our newsletter sales; but we only get paid if we successfully complete the sale of your domain name.

In our newsletter, Buyers pay Escrow fees and Sellers pay commission. Escrow fees can be calculated here.

WHAT ARE THE TERMS FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR YOUR NEWSLETTER  & PREMIUM BROKERAGE SERVICE?

Domain names submitted for our newsletter are under a 30 day exclusive representation agreement.  That means that we are the only authorized party to market & sell your domain name for a period of 30 days from the time of our first listing or marketing of your name.  We reserve the right to use all of our resources to market and sell your domains during the term of our representation; including, but not limited to, Domain Deals Newsletter, Indus Domains Marketplace or listing for auction on DNX.com.

Domain names submitted for our premium end user brokerage service are under a 60 – 180 day exclusive representation agreement.  The term length depends upon the value / price ratio.  If you are shooting for the stars then we will need a longer term to find the right buyer.  If you are looking to sell your domain name quickly and want to price it reasonably then we may accept a much shorter exclusivity period.  We may be able to reduce our commission rate on domains which are reasonably priced to market in the mid-six figures or higher.  Contact us for more information.
